winipcfg

I use the "winipcfg" to find out my IP number for my ADSL service. The number is dynamically provided by the ISP.

Can anyone tell me if there is a similar command in Linux?

linuxberg has a program called linipcfg that just gives you a readout of your ip and configuration, etc. doesn't give you any control though.
