I did get a Linux Hard disk. I need it for a sold system, but I don't know how to format it, so I can put Windows on it... I know, it's stupid but anyway...

DMR 09-25-2001, 08:35 PM Do you mean that you currently have Linux on the drive, and want to install Windows on the drive also, or do yuo just want to wipe the drive and install Windows only? How is it currently formatted? X_console 09-25-2001, 09:25 PM Get your Linux CD, start it up, when you get to the partitioning part, change the filesystem to FAT16 or FAT32. Then write it to disk. You should now be able to install Windows on it. EvD 09-26-2001, 04:38 AM I want to whipe out everything. DMR 09-26-2001, 09:49 PM I don't think the DOS/Windows version of fdisk even sees/understands Linux partitions. If you run the DOS fdisk, I believe it will ignore Linux and let you overwrite the whole disk. justlinux.com
