I want to burn this ISO but windows says it all wont fit on the cd. Can I just go buy a 800mb (or cd-r larger than 650mb) cd-r and burn it to that cd?...Can a typical cd-rw support cd-rs that are larger than 650?...I have a phillipsmagnavox usb burner...
Thanks in advance http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/smile.gif

I would say your software is faulty.I have 7.1 which I burned in windows using easy cd creator on a 650MB disk.Either find another program or just put it on a larger cd-r.

If you are having problems then just go get an 80 minute 700MB CD-R. They are very common and very cheap.

CD-RWs can't hold as much as a regular 650 meg cd-r... a huge chunk of the disk space (I think it's about 100 megs) is wasted on the formatting/filesystem information.

I hope you didn't download it using an ftp client in "ascii" mode, did you ?

Im currently at work, but I went to compusa and bought some 700mb cd -r cds, so should I be able to use the whole 700mb cd in my burner or does my burner have to support 700 mb disks?

This happened to me when I tried to COPY the ISO rather than create the image from the ISO.

crohozen,
Patch up Easy CD Creater to whatever the very latest version is. There was a bug in the older versions that read the size of an iSO incorrectly.
