Ok, I am totally stumped. Perhaps you guys can help me out.
*background*
I had the standard RH 6.0 install with the 2.2.5-15 kernel, and then upgraded the kernel to 2.2.20 to get support for a network card and soundcard that were built into the motherboard. The new kernel came from kernels.org. I have two network cards operating in the computer now, and I am after a bridge/router configuration.
*end background*
IPChains refuses to work with this kernel version. It flat out says "incompatible with kernel." So, I tried to upgrade it to a later version of IPChains, grabbing newer ones from RedHat's website.
To date, no copy of IPChains that I can install will run under my kernel. I would downgrade the kernel, only then I'd lose the network card onboard - defeating the purpose of running IPChains.
I've been eyeballing docs and how-to files for so long, I think I've lost perspective. Anyone out there think you can help?
Thanks,
Sac
