I've been reading about setting up the orinoco gold card on linux but could use a few pointers. Most howto docs tell me to download the pcmcia package (extract), download the wireless driver (extract INTO the extracted pcmcia directory) then build and install the driver... thing is that my RH8 is on my laptop and already has the rmp package 'kernel-pcmcia-cs-3.1.31-9' installed -- so should I follow a differernt proceedure here (never complied, etc. before).

Also, some of the docs also talk about editing the /etc/pcmcia/config file, some talk about editing the /etc/pcmcia/config.opts file and others seem to talk about the /etc/pcmcia/wireless.opts file... what gives here?

thanks much!

You may have all the RPM's you need...
If you have Gnome or KDE installed follow these steps to get your card recognized.

Replace the WPC11 refs. with orinoco

(It didn't work for me but I don't have the orinoco card)
