I set up my new box with X, but I only want it to boot ot text mode.

Then I set it up for an X server and using broadcast from my main box I start a session.

However this session is with fwm and I desperately want KDE!

How can I make the default X session KDE (so that the login console is that of KDE etc)

Thank you!

This question is distro-specific. Various distros have their way of doing these things. What distro are you using. With SuSE, you can run the YaST program and under System config, select login, and set it to test mode. In other distros, it's diffrent, although I could help if I knew what the distro was.

Thanks for your reply

I use RH7.1

I have managed to get the kdm login promt to the X terminal, however all I get when I log in is xsm instead of kde (or gnome).
