I'm busy with a linux pc, on a network and cant mount a nother server dir /home to my linux pc, it gices me an error - mount <server>/dir/ failed, reason given by server: permisions denied, i'm locek on as root, and i can c the masjien and i can ping it, so what can be wrong???? any info will help me a great deal.... thanxs

Could you please elaborate? I'm a little confused as to what you're asking. As for the permissions denied error, it's likely that there's some setting on the server you're trying to mount that prevents you from doing so. Being root on your home server doesn't mean you can just mount the remote server. If that were the case, then I'd be able to do that from my home too. So check your configurations and see if there's something there that allows you to mount from the remote IP.
I'm not sure if that's what you're asking though.
