this page might be ok for someone who already knows linux.... as far as real newbies, it doesn't help at all. The answers I got to every one of my questions were "go read something"... the web master should really call this page "linuxadvancednewbies"

Most of the time the best way to learn something is to go read it for yourself, because you get experience doing it instead of just having someone tell you the steps then you copy and paste hte commands or wahtever. if you've already spent time reading over things and still can't find the answer to your question then include that in your question and i'm sure that someone here would inform you of the answer with the RTFM thing. At least that's been my experience ;)

Being a Linux newbie for me has been like riding a roller coaster. I waited arround for a long time reading and building anticipation. Then once I got started it was slow at first; I was being careful to get everything just right. And just when you think everything makes perfect sence you reboot and iieeee..... nothing works quite the way you wanted.

But, just a few more dips and we'll be racing to get in line for the next ride :D

Linux just isn't for everyone. It was like this for DOS users in the 80's. But, slowly, turn key systems are becomming available. Until they are cheap I'll just keep riding.

posting a question for someone else to have to answer is easy. Actually doing a search is a bit harder. But asking a question like "How do I install Linux" on a message board is crazy in my opinion. Ask specific questions that deal with problems your having, after doing a search for that problem.
