The installs of the actual Linux ports from Loki are reasonably simple, so I'm assuming you're wanting to download the Linux bit to allow using your WindDoze CD in Linux?

Dang, with Loki in re-structure mode that's going to be difficult. A fair few ought to have on a local drive somewhere.

Maybe you'd have better luck in the Linux games forum.

Luck, glenn

All you need to do is download the latest Q3 for Linux patch, install it, then copy over the pak0.pk3 file from either the CD or a windows install. There's a README that comes with the Linux patch that describes this procedure.

Provided you already have OpenGL working in linux, installing QIII is only easy.

I had a lot of trouble getting OpenGL working in other distributions, so I chose Mandrake, which comes with it already enabled.

Anyway, install the QIII linux patch wherever it wants to go (usually /usr/local/games/Quake3/) or wherever you want to put it.. Just remember where it resides..

After the patch is installed, just copy the pak0.pak file from the CD into the Quake3/baseq3/ directory and make sure the permissions are 644 (-rw-r--r--).

After that I like to symlink the executable binary to /bin/quake3 so its easier to run.
