I have partitioned my hard drive(using Partition Magic)but RH7 cannot find the hard drive, it is connected to my Highpoint HTP370 ATA 100(IDE3). Do i need drivers for the device or will i have to put my hard drive back on to the Ultra ATA 66(IDE1)i have checked the motherboards web pages for drivers but nothing for Linux
Any help much appreciated

OK, I JUST did this on my computer about a week ago. Here's the link to the answer. This link is Mandrake specific but it should work for any distro.

As I understand it, this only works if you're installing Linux onto your primary drive. If you're trying to load it onto your secondary drive (an actual, physical drive, I'm not talking partitions here) then you could have problems.
Good luck.

Oh, By the way, when you do the lspci -vv line you may get more text than you can see on your screen. IF that is so then do this:
lspci -vv > mytest.txt
Then use vi or something to look at the resulting mytest.txt file.
If you're using LILO to boot LInux then you need to add the very same arguments described in the article to your lilo.conf file. THEN if you're using Windows 98 or 2K as your boot loader then you need to follow the directions on this page:
