installed limewire and it runs fine, but I haven't got an icon for it in kde. kde wants a png or .xpm but neither exists in the limewire directories, nor even in the java jar files.
I see kde is using a limewire icon for the taskbar and the alt-tab splashscreen. Any ideas where I can find it?

im not so shure you can run limewire by clicking on a button. i think you gotta do it all in the kounsel but im not shure
Hi,
When you install LimeWire, usually you will get a shortcut to a shellscript called runLimeWire.
I have it set up in the following manner:
From the desktop I link to the shortcut and simply apply the limewire icon I got from kde-look
http://www.kdelook.org/content/show.php?content=1480&PHPSESSID=62215419b6a4042217cad7df9b18720d
Hope this helps,
emus
edit: sorry misread your question, just ignore everything about how to run LimeWire. The link will get you the icon.

yes, you can run limewire from desktop icon.
I do and never have any problems.
do do so first make your own icon using gimp or whatever you prefer.
step2. setup a new launcher ( I use gnome and not sure how this is done with the newer KDE)
for the command use: /home/username/Limewire/Limewire
you might need to change this to match your own directory/install. then tell the launcher to use the new icon you created.
hey, you are done.

thanks for the link to kdelook.org - pretty cool. Had no idea kde was so big. Anyway though, don't you all find it annoying that you can't have the same icon for the desktop that limewire uses for the taskbar?
I think I'm going to root around the limewire forum to see what there is. don't normally like going there though, there's too much talk of people being prosecuted and sent to prison
