I have an ADSL connection, but can't get my Slack 8.0 to connect. It worked with Mandrake 8.0 fine.
At a certain point when linux boots up, it says the following:

Attempting to configure eth0 by contacting a DHCP server
dhcpd[78]: timed out waiting for a valid DHCP server response
eth0: Setting Rx mode to 1 addresses

The problem seems to be with my 3COM ISA network adapter, althuogh it works in windoze and in Mandrake 8.0. I ran 3c5x9 setup program for configuring 3com cards and it says:

Interrupt latch indication
Rx mode indication
This network adapter has unhandled interrupts!
Check /proc/interrupts to verify that the interrupt is properly registered and that the count is increasing.

I've looked at that file, but it does not mean anyting to me. I've read ethernetHOWTO, didn't help. Does any one know what do i have to do? Please help.

Thanx
