Hi -
I have two questions, and I was hoping you could help me with them.

First, when I load up KDE, for some reason GNOME desktop icons appear and the GNOME file explorer opens. How can I get rid of this?

here's a screenshot of it:

Second, where can I get a copy of glut.h? I installed the Mesa RPM from Mandrake, but it's not in there. I also downloaded the glut RPM from rpmfind.net, but when I did rpm -qpl glut.rpm, I didn't see glut.h in the listing.

I did a web search for it, but it seems like the SGI site doesn't carry it anymore...

TIA
leo

Uhh...check to see what you default window manager is for KDE. It should be Kwin. If it's not, change it to that.

If that's not the problem, close all the Gnome apps running and log out of KDE saving the session when you do.

Last, if neither of those work, make sure ntohing is in your autostart folder. I believe it's something like ~/.kde/autostart or something.

If those don't fix it, I have a question: Does it do this for all users or just one?

Do what evulis says and I believe a program called ' gmc ' is responsible for your problems. When I used to run enlightenment, whenever I tried to run gnome's file manager, I would get the file manager and gnome's desktop icons with it.

Do a search on rpmfind for mesa-glut-devel. I got a few hits but none for mandrake. I found glut.h listed in them.
