SERIOUS REDHAT 8 INSTALLATION PROBLEM!
I am sooo sick are tired of this redhat installer programming error...
anyways last night was my 8th time trying to install RedHat Linux v8.0 and it failed again with the EXACT SAME error..
when i started the install i did the linux mediacheck and all was fine... plus these were OFFICIAL RedHat CDs I was installing from so it's NOT a cd problem
Usually during the rpm transaction during the install, it will abnormally quit during a DIFFERENT package every time, the files on the CD ARE NOT Corrupted like i said, because the md5's match!
The errror is "Gnome canvas null assertion failed with =!null or something like that..."
the installer had 8 of those errors when it finally gave an error of "install abnormally quit"
anyone know how to fix this error? i need to install redhat linux 8 ASAP!
I'm installing on a dedicated 10GB hard drive just for linux btw, with 9.5GB for ext3 and 0.5GB i made for SWAP. I have 384MB physical memory which is more than enough with a Intel Pentium 4 1.5GHZ cpu... This is not a hardware problem either...
:(
Is this a redhat installer bug of some sort? please help, thx!
