Okay, rather odd problem here.

I have RedHat 8.0. Now, when I first installed it, I had the problem many others had....there were no conduits for syncing a PDA (Handspring Visor in my case) with Evolution. Well I eventually found an rpm of the Evolution conduits, and all was well. I also found out the command to get at the conduit configuration (gpilotd-control-appletblahblah).

Well, my inability to not have the latest versions of things caught up with me today, and I decided I wanted Evolution 1.2 (since RH8 comes with only 1.0.8). So I got Ximian Red Carpet for RH8, installed that, and then installed Evolution 1.2.1 through it. Well, all appeared to be working fine, until I looked into the "Pilot Settings" area of Evolution.

First of all, the conduit settings are now a tab in the "pilot settings" option. Also, that command found earlier to get at the conduit settings (the gpilot-control-appletblahblah one) doesn't do anything anymore, apparenly Red Carpet "upgraded" it. And also, there are no conduits for Evolution anymore. I have every conduit except for the Evolution ones. I tried reinstalling the conduits I'd downloaded before, but they don't work.

Anyway, does anyone have any idea what I can do to be able to sync with Evolution again? Anyone? Please?

I have exactly the same situation with a serially connected IBM WorkPad (same as Palm III). I look forward to any help as well.

I don't know if you are still having the same problem, but I have found a way to sync my handspring with Evolution 1.2.2 in RedHat 8.0. Originally I was having the same problem as you, the synchronization conduits were not showing up under the conduits tab. I found the following rpm, which would not install at first (probably because I have a later version of evolution): http://rpmfind.net/linux/RPM/helix/ximian-evolution/redhat-80-i386/evolution-pilot-1.2.1-2.ximian.1.i386.html
Anyway I forced the installation of the rpm, ie
rpm -ivh --nodeps evolution-pilot...
Then I deleted my old handspring setup in Evolution, re-did it, and said that I had never synced the pda before, and enabled all of the sync conduits under the conduit tab. And it worked... So if you haven't solved your problem yet, I hope this helps.
