I am fairly familiar with basic installation and usage of linux.
I am trying to build an MP3 jukebox out of an old computer I have sitting
around. I had constructed an MP3 Jukebox a while ago based on the CAJUN mp3
player plans on the net.
My new plan is to make a MP3 jukebox that can be controlled via remote and
will display info on my TV. So I am going to buy a video card with TV-out
(probably a cheap Trident card) and an IRman infared adaptor. I am fairly
confident that I can set up the devices pretty easy. But my problems arrise
with how to configure linux.
I want the machine to display only XMMS (mp3 player) on the screen.
Therefore I would have XMMS fullscreen on the TV. How should I configure X
to have XMMS be fullscreen? Would it still support the visualizations in
XMMS?
At boot I want it to bypass the login and launch XMMS on the screen. But -
I also want to allow remote logins from other machines on my network
(multi-user). How would I setup linux to bypass the login on the console
and launch XMMS/Xwindows?
I am only going to have control over the unit via remote - so bypassing the
login and launching XMMS is important.
Any ideas? Any help will be much appreciated!
Thanks
