:( i'm not sure why, but....here you go.
i had winxp and suse installed. was on windows for a few days (left on), then one day suddenly the screen turned into black and a little glitches i guess. so i decided to restart the com, can't really go to windows (everytime about to login, it automatically restarts and no matter how many times you try). then tried linux, it didn't work either when logging in (it just keep switching back and forth between the login menu-->basically can't use the graphics mode). i reformatted both os except my other FAT partition that i used to backup files.
couldn't install linux --> stopped when trying to display (btw though the graphics card i think it's fine since i'm using 98 now) the installation screen. then when tried to install 2k, i got the following messages:

0x00000026 (0x000401F0,0xF24E6D08,0xF24E6960,0xF217A27A)
CDFS_FILE_SYSTEM

when tried xp(fresh or upgrade):

0x000050 (0xF000E832,0x000000,0xBFDA1585,0x0000002) PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
Address BFDA1585 base at BFD9D000, DateStamp 3814ad92-fastfat.sys

now that the only os i can install is 98, everthing runs fine(excepts crashes every 1 hour, and can't seem to update with windows...crashes during).
so, if anyone can tell what the problem is, that would be great..:(

It could be a bad RAM stick problem. Make sure they are well seated in the slots and if you have several ones, try keeping one only (alternating them).

It doesn't sound like a software problem ...

It aint a software problem u probably have a corrupted memory block, u can try to install some memory test programs and run them. Or else your hd is foinked. But it definatly isn't a software problem.

memtest-86 (http://www.memtest86.com/) is a good, easy memory test program. Write it to a floppy, then reboot and it'll check all your RAM, CPU caches, etc. (takes a long time though!)
