I will start with the simple problem. I installed quake 3, but durring install it was strange that on the left where I would expect some type of logo I only saw a black space. But after install I run quake3 and get this error message:
/usr/local/bin/quake3: line 7: 612 Segmentation fault "$quake" $*
If this helps at all I am running slackware 8.0 with kernel 2.4.8 xfree86 4.1 My graphics card is a tnt2 and i have 256 mb of ram. And just a little info I get the same error message wether I have the nvidia drivers insttalled or not. Either way i get the same error. And that quake3 file that when run has that error is just a scrip tht the install program created and told me to use it reads something like:
cd "/usr/local/games/quake3"
quake="./quake3.x86"
"$quake" $*
exit $7
Any help would be much apreciated.
