Nice, nVidia has released updated drivers for Linux today and added a butt-load of new features including support for future AMD processors and additional features for their upcoming FX chips.

The download page tricked me at first when I went to select the Linux drivers, there are now three (3) catagories...
» Linux IA32 Display Drivers
» Linux IA64 Display Drivers
» Linux AMD64 Drivers
» FreeBSD Drivers

well...four (4) if you count FreeBSD :D

My best guess is most of us will want the IA32 one ;)

I hear a lot of people are having troubles with them, mostly on the 2D Acceleration

I'll have to give them a whirl tonight :)

Opposite on me...it completly crashes X. So far the only reasonable answer I got was if you used gcc 3.2 to compile glx the new driver will crash. This is a old problem that was already solved but somehow got re-introduced into this release.

As far as the 2D add a line to your display device in /etc/X11/XF86Config-4:
Option "RenderAccel" "on"
