KDE in Red Hat

How do I start KDE in Red Hat? "startx" gives me Gnome.

There's a file .xinitrc in your home directory, if not, create it. Add a line there:
startkde

That should do it.

What version are you running? I know that in pre-7.0, you can use the command switchdesk (if you have both Gnome and KDE installed).

I'm not sure if version 7 included this great tool.

If you installed both desktops then at your log in screen you should have a drop down box asking you which one you want to run. It sounds like you may not have both systems installed?
