I just want to thank all those linux gurus out there that sit down and answer our (sometimes stupid) questions about linux. It is because of you that all the linux newbie's stay with linux and don't use it just for a week and give up. You have to remember that we were all newbies once!! ;)

I also want to comment on how much junk gets put on a forum like this!! I am referring to people just abusing this type of forum (something that springs to mind is the recent "sex" thread. Someone please tell me, WHAT DOES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH LINUX!!!!!?????!??!!!!!

So thanks again to all those guys sitting out there, helping us newbies along our way.

90% of the stuff in /dev/random doesn't belong on a Linux newbie forum, IMHO. I'm just glad it isn't going on in General Linux Questions or wherever else, and getting in the way of real help.

But again, that's just me. It doesn't bother me -- I just don't read threads that appear (from the subject) to be something I'm not going to like getting into. *shrug*

I'm not sure I'd call it abuse of the forum, though I could see why some might think it is. Most of /dev/random is just people venting, or blithering (Topic: No Topic comes to mind...), or whatever. Just don't let it get to you. :)

I agree with Redhat 8 Newbie........this forum's great for newbies.....although I haven't exactly asked for help here that often.......the threads and replies by most of u guys have been very helpful to me in setting up and using linux.

I don't think that everyone really understood my messages. I don't think that this forum is useless and is being abused too much. I think far from that. Tempus77 has neatly summed this up for me.
