W2K pro and Linux

I have alredy have on my comp W2K pro,so I decided to install linux manrake too,I made a free partition for linux,and I got one orginal Linux mandrak 7.1 CD from the store,but I can't install!I started comp with Linux Cd in the cd room drive,and it start to boot from cd,then ask me for for instalation of linux,I press enter and I got one black screen forever!I tryed alredy to install from Linux boot floppy disc,but same thing happend!!What I should to do??

There may be an incompatibility with your video card, you may have to install in text mode.

It shouldn't be a video card because ,I had before installed same Linux mandrak with same cd and everythink was Ok! But I uninstalled Linux and I installed W2K And tryed to reinstall linux again and now I can't!!
How I can install a Linux in text mode?It might be a dump question but I am very new with linux,but I won't give up yet!:-)))
