Hey all,

I had mandrake 8.0 installed/running on a spare amdk6-II box and decided to upgrade ram and mobo / processor to abit kt7a /duron 800.

I figured a fresh install would probably be nice, since I barely got the first one up, thinking my cdrom was crapping out, so i put a dvd drive in for the install.

re-formatted drive w/ mandrake boot disk, get installing .. then BAM

when I get to the 'select packages to install' i get this error ..

"nothing found while parsing /mnt/var/lib/urpmi/hdlist.cd core system cd (x86) (cdrom1).cz"

cd looks fine, tried swaping out dvd drive i was using with generic cd-rom drive i used (somewhat) successfully before

CD looks fine .. no scratches .. but had problems w/ first attempt at installing as well. Computer would hang during actual package installation.

any ideas?

specs:

amd duron 800mghz
abit kt7a
256 meg ram
4gb maxtor HD
ati all-in-wonder pci vid card
some kind of NIC card ..

It could be a problem with the CD burn..
