Not sure how to do so on Debian. Is your nic up and running?

In the meantime, have your read the ADSL How-to's (which are probably installed on your system or available at www.linuxdoc.org)? (http://www.linuxdoc.org)?)

The setup of ADSL is most likely the same or close to the setup of cablemodems, which are a very popular topic here. A search for cablemodem or adsl may help.

Also check out the Networking section of the NHF's here for help on your ethernet card and more.

Well I got ADSL (PPPoE) running on debian. Really simple. Hit up www.roaringpenguin.com (http://www.roaringpenguin.com) and download their pppoe client.

NOTE: (if your server is going to run NAT or share the connection):

eth0: should be hooked into your lan. Assign it like 192.168.1.1

eth1: hooked into your modem. DO NOT ASSIGN A IP ADDRESS.

The roaring penguin software wont work if you give the eth interface hooked into your modem a ip address.

The dr. is right.

Make sure your nic is set up right in debian.

Un zip the roaring penguin package, cd to the dir you unziped it to, and type./go

Thats it. Piece of cake....
