I just procured red hat 8.0 and I am wondering if there is anything I should know before I install it. I currently have 6.2 and plan to install 8.0 as an upgrade. One problem, I don't know my root pass word. Will this be a problem??

From 6.2 to 8.0 ?
Well, my first reaction is to tell you that the 2 are different.... really different... really REALLY different, so different in fact that I would suggest you do a complete reinstall rather than an upgrade
In a nutshell, you get new tools, a new font server and a brand spanking new interface in RH 8.0, and even for someone who's faithfully upgraded through all the releases, it still comes as a shock... took me about a week to get used to it and find all my stuff, but today I wouldn't go back for the world.
You can go on the Red Hat site and read the release notes to know more about this.

I would like to do a partition but don't know how. I have a 15 gig hd and right now the whole thing is linux 6.2. I have windows on another drive (4.1 gig) and would like to have more room for it. I don't mind doing a full install but don't have an install guide just 6cd roms one with documentation.
