Grub

Is there a way to make stage 2 load faster, it takes 17 sec's for stage 2 to present the boot options.

Also i am using the Reiser file system, but cannot get Loadlin to work with it.(I presume it's the Reiserfs that wont let me use Loadlin, as it worked fine with ext2fs.)

The only suggestion I can give you is to do a search for grub here http://support.calderasystems.com/caldera and you should find quite a bit of information on Grub, though I cannot remember seeing anything on your question.
