when I installed debian the other night, it asked me to name my machine. Now when I'm at the prompt I see:
[user@newHostName: ~]$
I'm guessing that this is now what my host name is. But, to further complicate things, I have a DSL line with a dynamic IP to which I have a registered domain(mydomain.com) pointing to using centralinfo.net One of my goals for this weekend is to set up my internal mail. Do I need to specify somewhere on my machine this domain name? what about my host name? Does that enter into the mail equation at all?? http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/confused.gif
Thanks for the help...
