This is the oddest thing.. I had 2.4.17 working w/o any problems, then after a reconfig to add usb printer support and usb gamepad support to 2.4.17 I get this msg upon boot:
Code: 90 0b 56 9d 5b 5e c3 eb 0d 90 (90 appears 11 times)
Spurious 8259A
Interrupt: IRQ: 7
Kernel Panic: Attempted to kill init.
then ....
I applied the 2.4.18pre1 patch, reconfig'd, make dep, make clean, blah blah blah and now I get this error:

Kernel Panic: Attempted to kill init.
ahhh!!!
My old kernels (2.4.9-13 & 2.4.8) boot just fine, so I don't think this is a hardware problem. I am really stuck here, anyone have any thoughts? Thanks
