First XP will have to be set-up as vfat, so you can read and write to it. Then mount the partition. Then the files you want to access must have permissions set for the user.

Do you have a /mnt/windows directory? If so, that's where your windows stuff is. It will already be mounted, so just open XMMS and navigate to that directory, load a few files and that should be it. If you don't have that directory, you will need to open the Mandrake Control Centre, Mount Points, Hard Drives. Have alook at the partitions on your drive. Find your windows partition and give it a name, /mnt/windows maybe. Then mount it. Then close the Control Centre (choose to save fstab changes). It should now be possible to play the MP3s.

So, you need write access to play mp3's?

I've managed to get my ntfs drive mounted, but that's read-only of course. When I try to play my music in xmms, it just cycles through the playlist really quickly like it can't find the files.

I need my music. :/
