I vote for number 2. PLBlaze 01-26-2001, 02:24 PM Isn't that what they try to do now? introduce new features with major code cleanup and stability of the kernel...i could be wrong but who am i to judge the kernel gurus. njcajun 01-26-2001, 03:10 PM It's not like Alan and Linus and all the other developers sit down and say 'and now, for our next trick...'. The kernel is constantly being patched with new features, updates, bugfixes, and security fixes. What they SHOULD do isn't really much of a question, because the kernel is more evolutionary than planned. Of course, they have their 'to-do' lists and things they'd like to get in there, directions they'd like to venture down, but for the most part, progress will be constant, and will start to move even faster as more developers embrace Linux as a development platform. http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/biggrin.gif Hell, Linux is the reason I want to learn HOW to write code! :P ------------------ The two most abundant things in the universe...
