Intel® V.90 modem chipset driver for Linux (PCI). This driver supports Linux versions 2.2.12 to 2.2.18. This driver is not compatible with kernel version 2.4.X. Chipsets: MD563X and MD5628D.

And I have Red hat 7.1 ,, ahhhhh and that is 2.4.x. kernelll,.
I'm soo bad luck !!!, helppppp

Are you sure there isn't a 2.4 driver for your modem? Searched around the web?

I guess you could downgrade the kernel although it could break things. Hopefully not.

Make sure you keep the original kernel and modules and also modify your bootloader to be able to boot both kernels.
