I have workstation dual boot with Win98 and Red Hat 7.0. I cannot boot after installing Red Hat 7.2 on my PC. I do not have a problem like this
when I used version 7.0. I used AMD Duron 700Mhz processor. When I tried to
install this same OS in Intel's PIII, it is OK. Is this bug due to the type of processor?
The message upon booting with Red Hat is this:
-Kernel bug at swap.c:185!
-Invalid operand:0000
-Unable to handle kernel paging request at virtual address 5555cfcf
-Kernel panic: Aiee,, killing interrupt handler
-In interrupt handler - not syncing
Then hanged up. I can not even Ctrl-Alt-Del.
Why is that? How can I solved the problem? I already try give "x86_serial_nr=1" as parameter to kernel upon installation but the same problem arise. Can someone please help. Thanks!
