I have just installed RedHat 7.2 and Webmin latest version.
I need to know how can I add the realtek network card and assign IP to it. In windows its easy to add adaptor and simply assing the IP, add gateway and DNS. How should I do it with webmin. Thanks.

for an adsl connection i would use software fromwww.roaringpenguing.com

or just try out the command "ifconfig".

this should help, read the manual pages of ifconfig if you dont want to download the software.

I am not using DSL modem or Dialup modem. I am on cable network. So I only have to add Ethernet card. I am not confused cos I am seeing any Realtek in network properties in Linux.
If I simply add the network card and assing IP I know I am through.....

try running ifconfig in that way
ifconfig eth0 xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
to set up your ip address.

try also the command
netconfig
to find out what drivers need to be loaded for your NIC.

ifconfig doesn't really care whether DSL, cable, eth or USB. Put the card in, restart your computer with cable modem and you can set your IP.

Don't forget your DNS IP addressed in file /etc/resolv.conf

If you hit a snag, search LNO for cable modem. Tons of help there
