Hi,
I've just installed Drake 7.2 and after I used drakfont to import Windows ttf fonts, I now get a
'fatal server error - could'nt not find font 'fixed''
when trying to load X :0
Any ideas on how I go about fixing this?
Thanks!

This (Linux) is new to me but I would think that the font server is looking for all the fonts you installed. Go back to Drakfont and see if "fixed" is listed. If it is try to remove it. If it isn't try to install it from windows again.
*there should be 3 fonts labeled "fixed" that belong in Linux so make sure you se;ect the right one to remove*

There's another post right here in General on the same question. You may want to have a look at http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/Forum1/HTML/013723.html

At the command line try:
/etc/rc.d/init.d/xfs restart
If your X Font Server won't restart do:
/etc/rc.d/init.d/xfs start
then try startx again and see what happens.
Sometimes you have to do this several times in order for it to work.
Good luck.

Ugh, the more I read about Mdk7.2, the more I want to vomit. This sounds like Windows.
For a more permanent fix, why not read the TTF NHF and then see where the configuration went wrong? Drakfont is nice but it appears to be a bit buggy.
