How to set up a new printer in Mandrake 9

I have encountered a problem installing a new printer on Mandrake 9. My printer is a Lexmark z55. Apparently, I downloaded the driver from the lexmark website. I followed the procedures and everything was fine. The installation process was a breeze but later I tried to test print the printer, it failed. Mandrake 9 is still using the old driver. I think CUPS could not recognise my printer.

Could anyone help me out with this problem?

Have you tried Mandrake's online documentation for configuring printers (http://www.linux-mandrake.com/en/doc/90/en/Starter.html/printerdrake.html)?

Have you restarted the CUPS printer services after changing the printer driver?
