ok... this was totally random.
I was in Windows, my friend was playing a game in there.... then I get an Instant Message, and I tell my friend, hang on, I'm gonna boot back into linux and talk to her in there.
So I boot into linux... well, during the boot time, it goes to start up eth0 and waits forever and ever.
The exact message was:
Bringing up interface eth0:
Then it says:
Determining IP info for eth0 via DHCPCD failed.
And I get no net access.... I didn't change *any* hardware settings... nor did I install any new software... it was working just fine earlier today! and (as you can see) it works fine in Windows!? (well, actually... it seems slow and laggish, and times out every once in a while... but its something compared to nothing at least...)
So any ideas as to what is going on?
I played with HardDrake, and it says that it recognizes my ethercard, but doesn't do anything with it... none of my programs will use it either...
Should I just clean off and start fresh? I haven't done too much that I couldn't just easily redo... and if there's a way to save my rc files and stuff, then there's not a problem with doing that at all...
What do you guys think?
Bill
