I cant mount my damn dos partition.
Here is my fstab entry
/dev/hdd1 /mnt/mmdrive vfat user,exec,rw,conv=auto 0 0
the device is hdd
it says hdd1 is not a valid block dev

Also if it is a dos partition, would you use msdos instead of vfat?

its fat32 win98 partition
i had it mounted under linux before i dont know why its doing this now??

I tried your entry to no avail. it says hdd1 is not a valid block device

Correct me if I am wrong but if it says that HDD1 isnt a valid block device then it isnt the right partition??? Try changing the partition # or checking to see if it is the right one.
Here is my fstab entry:
/dev/hdb2 /mnt/win2k auto user,defaults 0 0
Try something to that effect and see what you get.

its a second drive with 1 partition if that helps
i mean there is only one partition on the drive and its fat32

Would be hdb1 then, would it?
hd = HD
b = second drive
1 = first partition
That should be it...
