I recently did a clean install of red hat 8.0 with kde 3.something unfortunately i have an i686 @ 333mhz with 168mb ram so its not to fast but it was faster than my 1.8ghz when it was running rh 7.2 with the kde version that came with it. so what i want is to keep 8.0 rh but downgrade !to! the kde from 7.2 how in the world do i do this ???? my only prob is i cannot find it and the one i did find is corrupt so if any one can tell me where to download that version of kde and also some instructions would be nice any help will be of much use...

What you're describing seems strange, since the KDE team made KDE 3 faster than the old version of it. If you want to downgrade, start by removing all of your current kde rpms. Then install the kde2.2.2 rpms. They can be found here: http://www.gtlib.cc.gatech.edu/pub/kde/Attic/2.2.2/RedHat/7.2/i386/
These are built for 7.2 so I don't know if they'll work for 8.0. If they don't then you're probably going to have to install from source. Depending on your experience level, building from source could be a nightmare.
