debian and kernel 2.4

i swear I saw a post on how to upgrade/compile the 2.4 kernel in debian by building a .deb file and then installing that package, but I cannot for the life of me find it in the forum search.

does anyone have that link or perhaps info on how to do it?

I don't know about the link but the kernel package is created from source with the make-kpkg command after normal configuration with make [menu|x]config.
