I just setup a old K6-233, 64mb ram, 4mb video (built into mobo), network card, 3.2gb hdd. Anyway I burned the Mandrake 7.2 iso and when I go and install I get to the point where it sets up the filesystem and stuff but a box pops up and says "DiskDrake failed to read correctly the partition table. Continue at own risk!" so I continue and as it trys to write the file system, the install locks up and I cannot do anything, I have made sure the drive is formatted and have even erased and made a new partition in fdisk. Any ideas? Thanks!

try wiping it out with another partition program, m$ fdisk isn't that good with the partition table sometimes

get ranish partion manager below, it is better at handling linux partitions than fdisk

and don't actually make or format any partitions, just use ranish to get to a blank drive, then let mandrake install do the rest

Are you booting your installation from a floppy? If so try to boot from the cd.
