FoBoT 02-13-2001, 05:13 PM which distribution are you trying to use? red hat? mandrake? the red hat web site (http://redhat.com) has a hardware compatibility list (http://redhat.com/support/hardware) a search for winbond show it listed as using the Kernel Module: ne2k-pci.o being model 89C940 don't know if that will help [ 13 February 2001: Message edited by: FoBoT ] drstrangelove 02-13-2001, 07:19 PM i'm using debian. I would've czeched out the sites, 'cept i am at work... will czech it out later... drstrangelove 02-13-2001, 07:29 PM debian's website is kinda weird... they say that their distro will support the hardware that the kernel supports. Then they give a link to http://www.linuxdoc.org/HOWTO/Hardware-HOWTO.html However, this link doesn't list the Winbond card. If I use the module that RH lists, do I have any chance of success? Just wondering. justlinux.com
