Ok, who has the fastest PC??? Who's CPU is that faster than all?? and who has the best graphics card???

I think this is interesting, because the new p4 is out, and the new amd...

My fastest system is a Pentium III 450...and I have a TNT graphics card.

I'm pretty sure I won't win this contest.

well i dont like to burst bubbles but I just got another order for a 833MZEV6 dual system
which has the combined output of 2 1.5G P4's
The new EV7 at 1.5G will have the o/p of 2.0-2.5 P4@1.5 Haha this is not important as I know your talking home systems,I just like to point out that intel is waaayyy behind Alpha and most risc based cpu's that the only way they can compete is with higer clock rates.Wait till the 2-4GH Ev8 comes out
it will make the P4 and I64 look like a 8086

I have an 8086!! (though it's just sitting in a pile in the basement... ya know... 640 k was enough)

My desktop is an 800MHz P3.

Dual 533 Celerons (not oc'ed)

I'm thinking of installing Win2k just so I can actualy use all that power. I run 11 hour seti blocks in the background with out any performance hit. Playing MP3's barely even registers on Pulse.

My video card is next on the upgrade list. An AGP ATI Rage Pro. I think it has 4 MB. Since I'm not really into shoot-em-up game on the computer, it does everything I need. High enough res and refresh with plenty of colors.

I think we are reching that point were even M$ products can't eat up all the power of the newest CPU's in day to day use.

I have a 750MHz Athlon with 512MB of RAM at home, but I'm thinking about getting another 512MB of RAM for it.

At work our primary system is a IBM R/S 6000. I don't know what Unix O/S or how much RAM is on it, but I do know it is a multi processor RISC based system. It handles about a 100 users on it all day long.

If Windows ran on a Dec Alpha, it would almost make up for being such a ****ty OS, then again, if pigs could fly....

600Mhz Duron on mine, although I believe that thanks to RDram or DDRram (not sure which) Pentiums run a little faster than their AMD counterparts.

Uhm, Windows NT 4.0 can run on Alphas. You'll have a hard time finding software for that platform though, you'll probably be better off running Tru64, NetBSD or Linux http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/smile.gif I also think it requires a "special" Alpha or something...

Compaq has dropped support for NT on Alpha though, take a look at this (http://www5.compaq.com/corporate/letter19990902.html).

NASA said that the G4 were faster than their pcs, ... But i mean, they are pretty expensive, and come with a installed Zip drive, and a DVD burner. Hey, but if we talk about fast systems, you should check out sgi pc's, boy if i look at their pc's, my heart start beating faster. well, also if i look at the price http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/wink.gif

How about no. G4's do not run at 1.5ghz, and their performance does not (besides in jaded photoshop tests) come close. Nice try, but thats the biggest load of crap I have ever seen in my life. Last I checked, if you have the newest G4 chips out, you may have a 133mhz bus which would bring you up to 733, but not even close to 1.5.. go back to your crack rock son.. Intel P4 1.6, as ****ty of reviews as it has gotten lately, still beats the grap out of a G4 733.. not to mention we will be seeing the dual athlons, which yet again will also whoop macs.. (I still dont understand how you say 1.5ghz.. jesus christ..)
