no cd

Hi people :D

I have just downloaed WineX and installed thief with no problems ;) it's when I want to play it and then asks me to put in the cd so I just click on ok but it still ask me to put in the damn cd. do I need to install a no cd patch :confused:

just telling you i havn't heard of anyone getting thief working in linux, but GJ if you get it. A good source of cd cracks is at www.gamecopyworld.com

The WineX from the CVS does not have any CD copy protection code in it, you need a subscribtion with www.transgaming.com and get the binaries which include it.

So yes, for most newer games unless you use the WineX binaries, you will need a no-cd for them.

Even tried with and without the no-cd patch, using both CVS and binaries. I re-try every time they release a new binary...for the last year :(

Hi people I do have the actual RPM from transgaming and kinda got it to work I just have the wrong patch. I know thief works but there something you have to do to get the damn game to work right I've seen it somewhere on google but dont remember what I typed in. I playeed it in Linux once because it was on my windows partition but I dont have windows anymore :D but i'll look on google again and if I get it to work i'll let you guys know what I did ;-)

p.s one other thing in half-life I get a midi error and runs soo damn slow and when I set the video to opengl the game freezes and sound in all my games are **** any way to fix these problems :confused: and my cr-rom is mounted
