This is my first forey at burning cd's in Linux and I can say I'm quite pleased. I got over the hard part. I plugged in the new (to me) HP cd-rw. I installed Mandrake 8.2 on a spare partition and got it setup. I had to jigger it because the boot is handled with my original Mandy 8.2 (I have two separate partitions). So once I added the append option of hdc=ide-scsi boom it was set. I had xcdroast setup in a minute and burned my first cd in linux. Problem is it don't do multisession. :(
I've read up and gtoaster seems to be the way to go. I use my cdr's to make incremental backups of programs I want to save so I need multisession. So I'd like opinions I've only heard people talk about gtoaster being good for this. Is this it or are there other progs that I can use (preferably included with Mandy 8.2) that can do multi session cd-r? Funny it was easier to set this up than it was my printer in cups the first time.
