Basically what I'd like to do is to install and configure everyithing on to Disk 1. Then once I am finished doing that, I would like to set up raid (hardware raid, the megaraid driver will work), such that two devices are the clone of each other.
Basically when I am setting up this raid 1 machine will I have to use partimage to copy the contents of disk 1 to a .tar.bz2 file untar it to disk 2 and then set up the raid or is enabeling the raid-1 hardware driver sufficient to have the system automagically clone disk-1 to disk-2?
My local LUG ILUG www.linux.ie is under the impression from it's irc channel that software raid will do this, and I'm wondering if the same holds true for hardware raid?
Edit: I forgot to mention.
PERC SC from Dell, which seems to be supported by the megaraid driver from 2.2.x and 2.4.x stock kernels, so no issue (touch wood).
