Mandrake 8 Duh 09-22-2001, 09:18 AM just download Xine. or the avi plugin for Xmms. cd's dont have much for good stuff on them anyways jaygee432 09-22-2001, 01:34 PM Xanim's probably still there. Malakin 09-23-2001, 05:07 AM I don't think there are any avi players that come with mandrake 8. (ls | grep xanim -i) on both of the cd's listed nothing) None of them are easy for a newbie to get working either. I'm using the avi-xmms plugin and it works very nicely. Don't bother with mplayer I never could get it to compile in mandrake 8. I can't seem to get xine to work with dragNdrop but other then that it does work you just have to run it like "xine file.avi", plays dvd's also. There's rpm's for it here that work with mandrake 8 http://seawolf.freshrpms.net/ I haven't looked at the betas, but maybe Mandrake 8.1 will come with something that plays avi's. justlinux.com
