I recently got a computer with... *braces for boos and hisses*... Lindows on it. I've downloaded a few games and I'm able to run them OK if I go to the directory (in the KDE file manager), open a terminal window and start it in bash. My question is how do I shortcut this process and put a link to the program (that actually works :D ) on my KDE desktop. If it makes any difference, two of my games are in my /usr/local/games directory and one is a shell script and the other is an ELF executable.

Thank you for your help. :)

Look in the start menu for the entry "Menu Editor". Possibly under the "System" heading.

like JohnT said you can add a link to a program in the menu editor, it is accessed by right clicking on the icon you use to launch the kde menu.
after you right click select the menu editor and then add an entry to one of the exsisting menu's or selct add directory to start a new one.
after you select either add menu or directory a menu should pop up asking you for
1.Title (this is the name of the app) 2. the long name (this is usaley the path to where the app is located, you should be able to leave this blank) 3. command ( you put the command you use to launch the program, you can find this by using the run command alt+f2 then typying the name of the program) if that works that is what you put into the command field, if not you may need to find the file you need to run the program with.

anyway if the programs are already in your kde menu then you create a link by left clicking on the icon of the program you want to link to & dragging it to you desktop & selcting link here from the menu that pops up. then you will have a link on the desktop. :) :D

hope that was helpful
