I had been trying to get urpmi to work with my Mandrake box. for those who do'nt know what urpmi is. it is a package mangment system very simlar to apt get. My problem was that I could never find a working mirror for urpmi so it never workd for me. I did some google searching & came across this great site http://plf.zarb.org/ on this site I was able to find a working mirror for cooker so that I could have the lastest packages for my MD system without haveing to compile them myself. http://plf.zarb.org/ will help you find a mirrior based on what version of MD you are usng. you must be running MD 7.0 or above to use urpmi. urpmi has worked great for me. I hope it does for you :) IMHO Mandrake & other RPM distro's should base their distro's on apt for RPM or urpmi rather then staright RPM this should help resolve many of the dependenice issues that plauge RPM based distro's. :D :D

Good Luck
