Is there any good asf players for Linux? I use MPlayer but it's not good for asf type files (no sound bad image quality...). Is Xine better for asf and is there other good afs (maybe small asf only) players for Linux?

Hitokiri_X 11-24-2002, 08:25 PM I never had any problems playing asf with mplayer and using a different player won't affect the quality. If you need one,Xine does work and so does avifile (http://avifile.sourceforge.net/). JP83 11-24-2002, 08:38 PM Yes i did try Xine and avifile avifile = i donno howto run aviplay doesn't work and Xine same quality as MPlayer. Ok image quality is not optimal but i want sound but that could be too much to ask. Is there any asf player that plays sound + image? Hitokiri_X 11-24-2002, 08:59 PM Are you sure the asf file even has sound encoded in it?What audio codec does it say in mplayer?Try changing the audio output to something else like sdl. JP83 11-25-2002, 08:32 AM :p Now i have sound in MPlayer. It was w32codec package (it was installed but not enabled). I'm so dummy :p gamermag 07-02-2003, 04:28 AM you can use MPlayer!
