When I try to log into GNOME, I get the following error message:
"Could not look up internet address for smirnoof.stduent.cwru.edu. This will prevent GNOME from operating correctly. It may be possible to correct the problem by adding smirnoff.student.cwru.edu to the file /etc/hosts"
It asks me if I want to log on anyway or try again. Try again does nothing so I log in. When I try to open Mozilla it then brings up the "Select User Profile" dialog box and when I try to open Mozilla w/ "default" it says I can't because it's already in use. I would think it was an internet access problem, but GAIM still works and if I log onto KDE everything, including Mozilla, works fine. I tried restarting X and restarting the computer itself but neither works.
Any idea what these errors mean and how I can go about fixing them??
